This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of one of the most complex revenue, payments, and contract portfolios in Canadian transit. If you thrive in complexity and want your work to have visible, lasting impact, this role offers both challenge and legacy.
- Your expertise in commercial contract management will be critical to enforcing complex, high-risk revenue agreements and protecting hundreds of millions of dollars in fare revenue.
- Your ability to interpret legal and commercial language will enable you to resolve escalated vendor disputes, assess claims, and manage matters that may proceed to arbitration.
- Your strength in financial analysis and modeling will support accurate revenue impact assessments, fare changes, and Transit Tariff amendments.
- Your understanding of payment processing and revenue systems will help identify transaction-level risks across millions of daily transactions.
- Your vendor governance skills will ensure contractors are held accountable through KPI-driven oversight while maintaining effective working relationships.
- Your project leadership capability will support RFP evaluations, contract negotiations, and the transition to a next-generation fare and payments system.
- Your judgment under ambiguity will be essential when managing urgent system incidents with immediate customer and financial impact.
- Your disciplined approach to documentation and reporting will ensure decisions stand up to audit, executive, and legal scrutiny.
- Your collaborative leadership style will be invaluable in leading teams responsible for revenue reconciliation, fare infractions, and dispute adjudication.
- Your strategic mindset will help ensure decisions made today remain sound when future system changes are implemented years from now.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree in business, law, or a related discipline, with 8+ years of progressive experience leading commercial programs involving complex third-party contracts, negotiations, and performance management.
- Expert knowledge of contract management, including negotiation, interpretation of legal documents, dispute resolution, and vendor performance governance.
- Advanced experience in financial analysis and modeling, particularly in revenue forecasting, tariff amendments, and decision support for senior leadership.
- Proven leadership experience managing professional staff and external contractors in large, cross-functional environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to advise executives, influence vendors, and present complex issues clearly.
