The OpportunityThe ideal applicant for the Manager, Fire and Emergency Services role is a proven, people-centered, progressive leader. In this role, you will be working with a group of dedicated people to help shape the Regional District’s future and you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution.
Reporting to the General Manager, Community Services, you will provide collaborative leadership and a variety of strategic and professional advice. You are an experienced, astute, progressive leader; you are a motivator of people with the administrative, business and leadership skills to operate collaboratively in a complex community and local government environment.
You have demonstrated leadership abilities, you value a team approach, and have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. You are recognized for your positive local government contributions and are a catalyst for continuous positive change. Your ability to lead Fire and Emergency services through a strategic and customer focused lens will be key to success.
The Manager, Fire and Emergency Services is a full-time exempt position working 35 hours per week and includes an annual salary ranging
from $123,302 up to a merit maximum of $156,593. You have a post-secondary diploma, with preference to a degree, in public or business administration, fire services, emergency management, or related field, ideally supplemented by relevant certification such as fire services and emergency management. You also bring seven or more years of progressively senior related work experience, preferably with some in local or regional government.
