This position works in the Public Works – Administration organizational unit. This is technical and clerical work requiring a good functional knowledge of departmental procedures and policies. An incumbent of this class assists supervisors in the scheduling, tracking, and monitoring of planned maintenance activities on municipal sewer, water, and road infrastructure using computerized software applications. Additional responsibilities include preparing approved preventative maintenance work orders and reviewing completed work orders for reasonableness and accuracy. The incumbent exercises sound independence of judgment and action in day to day matters, referring more complex and unusual matters to a supervisor. Work is performed within the framework of established policies and procedures and recommendations are reviewed by supervisors for conformance to same. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 preferably including or supplemented by courses in commercial subjects and sound related experience in an engineering operations maintenance environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the City’s water, sewer and street infrastructure related to Engineering. Sound knowledge of modern business office practices and procedures including the use of application software packages related to the work performed (e.g. Infor Public Sector, SAP PM, Burnaby Map, MS Office 365); record keeping and applicable system codes related to the work performed. Ability to maintain and update preventative maintenance records and to prepare periodic statistical and narrative reports from such records. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
Salary:
$5,560 – 5,783 – 6,023 – 6,275 – 6,536/month (2024 rates)
$5,957 – 6,194 – 6,451 – 6,722 – 7,002/month (2026 rates)
