Select, measure, cut, ream and thread pipeConnect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipmentInstall clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power toolsInstalls valves, alarms and associated equipmentJoin pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipmentSupervise other workersTest system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipmentClean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush systemCut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machinesMeasure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and sizeRemove and replace worn components and reactivate systemSelect type and size of pipe requiredTest system for leaks using testing equipmentWeld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systemRead and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
