Maintenance Technician PERMANENT DAYS
PAY: $40.00/hr to $44.00/hr to start (neg.) + benefits
LOCATION: Mississauga, Ontario
Qualifications:
- Red Seal / Inter Provincial Electrician (442A or 309A) certification
- Additional relevant education an asset (Industrial Millwright 433A certification, Controls Automation Diploma, etc.)
- 5 years+ experience in the maintenance of automated production equipment in an industrial environment
- Solid knowledge and background of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation control systems
- Experience with designing automatically controlled production equipment an asset
- Experience with web processes an asset (sheet feed / roll feed machinery)
- Ability to test, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues with various controllers, motor drives, sensors and actuators
- Understanding of and ability to learn over time a machine’s operation including control logic
- Sense of urgency in dealing with machinery breakdowns
- Able to manage multiple tasks / priorities and adapt to changing situations
- Basic knowledge of OHSA regulations and safety standards
- Attention to detail and ability to keep proper documentation of work completed
- Carry self with a positive, constructive attitude
- Motivated self-starter able to develop strong relations with Supervisors, co-workers and plant employees
- Able to work additional hours as needed in the event of a machine breakdown or tight deadline
Duties:
- Working with a team of Maintenance Technicians, be a main resource from an electrical and controls perspective for the troubleshooting and problem solving of automated equipment
- Also be responsible for industrial maintenance including maintenance, repair and installation of production equipment and improving reliability / output / quality / safety
- Provide electrical support in the troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment ; focus mostly on electrical and electronic systems of the machine itself, less on electrical supply
- Troubleshoot automated equipment by viewing control programs, understanding control logic, and problem solving to determine and fix the causes of stoppages and poor performance
- Maintain and service all production machinery including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated systems
- Install and commission new equipment with support of team members
- Complete, document and support preventative maintenance activities
- Assist in the design and building of prototype equipment required for new products under development
- Depending on experience, upgrade or enhance control hardware and software to improve performance, functionality and equipment lifespan
- Ensure documentation is up to date to ensure it reflects the current equipment configuration*
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
