We are seeking an experienced elementary school educator to teach Science in the Middle School Program (Grade 6 and 7). You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Teaching and learning is guided and enhanced by the principles of a student-centred, collaborative approach with an inquiry-based focus to deepen learning for young students.

This is a one year position to cover a leave with 0.8FTE teaching science/Grade 7 form teacher and 0.20FTE supporting learning resources.

Responsibilities:
- Create a classroom community rich in SEL for Grade 7 girls in a homeroom setting
- Plan the Grade 6 & 7 Science Curriculum in a team-based, collaborative approach
- Implement dynamic and interactive lessons
- Consider the diverse needs of students in your planning and teaching, offering a range of entry points and extensions to accommodate the needs of individual learners
- Utilize a variety of assessment techniques that allow for timely, transparent, and strength-based communication of learning
- Develop a student-centered, inquiry-based, and supportive culture for learning
- Integrate technology into teaching and learning in meaningful ways
- Communicate and collaborate with students, parents, teachers and administration to support student learning and wellbeing
- Be an active and positive participant in school life including co-curricular activities
- Support the supervision of students during non-instructional time
- Participate in wider school wide events such as community time, student leadership opportunities and outdoor education experiences
- Work with select students
Learning Resources Support (0.2FTE)
- Work collaboratively with learning resource teachers to provide integrated support to Middle School students
- Collaborate with teachers to strengthen their capacity to support students with learning needs
- Foster a positive, supportive learning culture that celebrates diverse learning profiles
- Support classroom learning through small‑group and individual instruction
Qualifications:
- B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Previous experience teaching in a middle school capacity an asset
- Understanding on how to support diverse learning styles at an elementary level
- Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized with attention to detail
- Energy, commitment, and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community
Employment and Application Details:
This role is scheduled to start in late August 2026 and classes begin in September 2026.

Annual Compensation: $69,541-$123,242 depending on experience and education.
