This position works in the Bonsor – Administration organizational unit. This is customer focused, front line contact work at a high volume and fast paced facility; involving answering a variety of enquiries related to activity programs, facility and rental information. Provides information, processes program registrations, assistance and direction to internal and external customers by telephone and over the counter. The incumbent will work in a multitasking environment, prepare correspondence and reports and perform related typing and clerical work as required; process transaction payments for items such as admissions, program registrations, point of sale purchases; balance daily cash and prepares cash reports; operate point of sale operating programs and equipment, other common office equipment; enforce rules and regulations regarding the proper use of facilities as required. Attention to detail and proactive team player. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of grade 12 including or supplemented by commercial and typing courses plus sound related experience (preferably in customer service and cash handling procedures); or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of department facilities, programs, booking and registration procedures as applicable to the work; clerical recordkeeping procedures, modern office methods, business English, spelling, arithmetic and punctuation. Working knowledge of cash register operation and cash handling procedures. Ability to compose routine correspondence and memorandum and arrange format for reports, tabulations, summaries and related material. Skill in typing rapidly and accurately; the operation of the computer systems (e.g., ActiveNet), equipment related to work and office computer applications. Please note that a Police Information Check is required for this position.
Clause 6 Application of Seniority: Appointments to regular full time, temporary full time, regular part time and temporary part time positions shall be determined by seniority as defined in Article 6 of the inside Collective Agreement. These appointments shall be subject to the successful passing of the skill test(s) applicable to the classification, that they are not currently subject to a performance management plan, and have no discipline or recorded safety infractions in the previous eighteen (18) months.
SALARY:
$27.30 – 28.37 – 29.48 – 30.70 – 31.97/hour (2024 Rates)
$29.25 – 30.39 – 31.58 – 32.88 – 34.25/hour (2026 Rates)
SCHEDULE: 42 hours bi-weekly (.60% FTE); Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 4:30 PM – 9:45 PM, and Sunday from 3:45 PM – 9:00 PM.
