We are looking for a Director of Services to join our team!

Position: Short-term Contract, Full-time, 35 Hours per Week, Evening Hours and
Weekends may be required. Beginning June 1, 2026 and ending September 11, 2026.
Salary Range: $49.69-$60.23 per hour. *Candidate experience considered when
determining salary.

Location: The Director of Services is expected to work out of the following major
CMHA-YRSS offices and may be required to travel to other CMHA Offices, community
centres, and other locations throughout York Region and South Simcoe as required.

Job Profile:
The Director of Services provides overall support and management of programs and
services offered by CMHA. In this role, you will participate as a member of the
leadership team and will be responsible for identifying, establishing and developing
community services. The Director will lead program development and innovation for
assigned program areas. The Director will explore best practices in service delivery and
lead change management strategies for continuous quality improvement. This position
will engage communities to build a strong mental health and addiction system in York
Region and South Simcoe. They will contribute to the agency’s corporate management
agenda by providing strong strategic leadership for all aspects of mental health
services. The Director of Services will work in strategic collaboration with the leadership
team, to drive performance, sustain high levels of employee engagement, and develop
and sustain a leadership culture across the organization that aligns with and achieves
the agency’s strategy, mission, vision and values.
In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the Director is
also expected to behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication
and team building, demonstrate effectiveness in working in a collaborative environment,
and demonstrate confidence in decision-making and in building relationships.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a health or social service discipline (e.g. occupational
therapy, nursing, social work, health administration, etc.) or equivalent
combination of education (college diploma/bachelor’s degree) and
experience
Professional Registration with a Regulatory Body is required.
Master’s degree or experiential equivalent required
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable role
Experience in the non-profit sector, ideally in health or mental health
Extensive experience cultivating diverse networks and leading community
outreach initiatives, leveraging diversity of people and thinking to create
innovative solutions
Extensive management and leadership experience at a senior level accountable
for multiple programs
Demonstrated ability to lead and engage in executing strategic change
Excellent management, facilitation, team building, teamwork skills
Ability to cultivate diverse networks and leading community outreach initiatives,
leveraging diversity of people and thinking to create innovative solutions;
A second language (French, Cantonese, Farsi, Italian, Korean, Mandarin,
Punjabi, Russian, Tamil, Urdu) reflecting the local community is an asset
A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check)
A valid Canadian driver’s license, a minimum $1,000,000 third party liability
insurance
Responsibilities:
Provides immediate supervision of Manager of People & Teams
Develops programs and services that reflect the needs of people with mental
health and addiction problems, ensuring appropriate cultural focus
Execute a comprehensive analysis of a wide-range of factors including client
experience, standards of care, community partnerships, impact on staff and
operation efficiencies.
Monitors and evaluates the program objectives ensuring that they meet or
exceed program delivery standards, performance accountability and funding
requirements
Manages the coordination of services, to ensure accessible and effective social
service delivery to clients
Responsible for analyzing program issues, researches best practices and
innovations, develops solutions and provides advice on issues, trends and
strategic directions to Senior Management
Explores and accesses additional funding opportunities in order to enhance
current program activities
Provides leadership, guidance, direction and support to employees delivering
programs and services
Oversees the management of the program budget in consultation with Manager
