ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and guest areas are maintained in a safe, functional, and efficient condition. This role supports daily operations by performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and responding to guest service requests.
Perform daily inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and exterior grounds to ensure operational readiness
Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, boilers, and mechanical equipment
Respond quickly and professionally to guest maintenance requests to minimize disruption to guest experience
Troubleshoot and repair issues such as heating/cooling failures, water leaks, lighting, and appliances
Maintain exterior areas including walkways, parking areas, and building envelope (snow removal in Winter)
Ensure compliance with fire safety systems, life safety requirements, and Parks/authority regulations
Coordinate and support external contractors during major repairs or capital projects
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and work orders
Assist with minor renovations, painting, drywall, and carpentry work
Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory, ensuring readiness during peak season
Maintain pools, hot tubs, and related equipment
On-call rotation for emergency maintenance
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in Building Maintenance (PPM) – required
- Possess working knowledge of computerized Building Maintenance Systems is an asset.
- Working knowledge of HVAC and A.H.U. systems and chiller operations
- Must work well without supervision
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge.
- Minor Kitchen equipment knowledge
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Computer literacy required: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to work effectively in a high pace environment.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment
- Must be willing to learn, self motivated and be comfortable working in a technically demanding environment
- Further training will be required as it relates to property specific systems
