Our client a leader in the manufacturing industry is hiring for an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator. If you love to create and work in a fast paced environment with great opportunities, look no further.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knows how to correctly cut to measure, assemble, and produce all types of tarps, flaps and related components.
- Knowledgeable in sewing, welding, and manufacturing tarps, vinyl and their component parts.
- Assist with managing shop inventory
- Responsible for correctly reading and interpreting work orders, and identifying and selecting the correct material for manufacture.
- Cut material to the correct size for manufacturing all parts.
- Install tubing into component parts
- Install Velcro onto component parts
- Complete mobile repairs for customer service for all drive –through repairs.
- Communicates daily with production and purchasing regarding any material issues or requests for the shop.
- Responsible for creating graphics masks for the product as required.
- Complies with all personal health and safety requirements within the shop.
- Assists with packaging all finished goods for shipping when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate should have a minimum of 1 year in industrial fabric manufacturing.
- Candidate must have a high school diploma;
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs;
- Must speak English;
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Candidate should have good manual dexterity.
- Candidate should be able to read and correctly interpret technical line drawings for manufacture and measurement.
- Ability to learn and follow directions and be detail orientated.
- Candidate must be reliable and able to work overtime when required.
- The candidate must be able to work independently, or as part of a team
- Must have excellent priority setting skills and have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work while standing on a ladder.
- Candidate should be physically fit, able to sit, stand, bend.
- Capable of using and maintaining single and double needle sewing machines.
- Familiar with the use of air welders or can be successfully trained.
