Wosler Diagnostics private ultrasound clinics operates in Alberta serving patients in underserved areas and communities of the province.
We are looking for medical sonographers to work in our clinics in Whitecourt and Fort McMurray, AB.
As a medical sonographer you will be responsible for:
• Preparation of the patient(s) for the ultrasound examination.
• Selection of the appropriate equipment for the ultrasound examination.
• Performing ultrasound examinations that yield important diagnostic information.
• Recording and gathering ultrasound data.
• Analyzing the data collected and reporting the ultrasound findings to the radiologist in an oral and written fashion for diagnosis.
• Using independent judgment whether to extend the scope of the ultrasound examinations or not based on ultrasound findings.
• Interaction and collaboration with radiologist and other health care professions for proving a good quality of care of the patient.
• Evaluation of new equipment and products for possible future use.
• Preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Disinfection of equipment.
• Input in developing new techniques for performing examinations.
• Other duties as requested.
As a successful candidate you are expected to meet the following requirements:
• Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent.
• Certification by Sonography Canada and maintenance of membership status in Sonography Canada.
• Minimum 1 year of full-time post-certification ultrasound experience.
• Eligibility for ACMDTT registration.
• Ability to perform all types of ultrasound procedures on various types of ultrasound equipment.
• Vascular and MSK experience is an asset.
• Excellent hand eye co-ordination
• Ability to train in a variety of ultrasound related examinations, procedures, equipment
• Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and work well under pressure
• Effective body language and people management skills with the ability to demonstrate sensitivity when dealing with intimate patient contact situations
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a group environment.
• Strong interest in continual improvement and career development

Salaries: $46.40 / hour
