With over a decade of experience, TDR Electric is a leading electrical contractor in Vancouver, BC, specializing in residential and commercial projects. We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join our growing team.
Wage:
- $39.00/hr for 40 hours/week

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
- Install electrical systems in new apartment builds, and in large commercial renovations and expansions
- Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors
- Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
- Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
- Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits
- Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, following installation, replacement or repair
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components
- Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signalling devices and heating and cooling systems
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
- Inspect completed electrical installations to ensure workmanship and quality meet company and industry standards.
- Perform quality checks and document findings during the electrical installation and maintenance process.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical work, installations, repairs, and inspections.
- Submit reports on electrical work progress and any delays or issues encountered during construction.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment required for electrical installations.
- May instruct and work with apprentices
Education requirement:
- Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program of four years.
Experience requirement:
- Two years of experience, including at least one year of experience as certified electrician.
- Experience with new commercial builds (such as apartment buildings, office buildings, and sky scrapers), as well as with renovations and expansions of commercial buildings.
Other requirements:
- A Class 5 driver’s license is required due to the need for regular travel between job sites
Work address:
- 1273 Clark Drive, Vancouver, BC V5L 3K6, with site visits required throughout the Greater Vancouver area.
Language of work:
- English proficiency is required to read blueprints, safety instructions, and communicate effectively on job sites.
