Compute dimensions, sizes, shapes and tolerances of workpieces Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grindersRead and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specificationsLay out, shape and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic and other materials from blueprints, models or templatesPosition, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining
