olid Waste & Recycling Coordinator, reporting to the Manager, Solid Waste, Fleet & Shared Services, you will play a key role in advancing innovative waste reduction and diversion programs, supporting environmentally responsible services, and engaging residents through meaningful outreach and education.
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and community-minded professional to make a tangible impact on the City’s environmental goals while working collaboratively across programs, services, and stakeholders.
As the Solid Waste & Recycling Coordinator, your responsibilities are to:- assist with the implementation of waste reduction and recycling programs;
- design communication materials;
- administer recycling contracts;
- coordinate the City's contracted service;
- organize related events and promotions;
- answer residential enquiries; and
- update related budgets, databases, reports and records.
As the Solid Waste & Recycling Coordinator, you will bring:- A two-year diploma in environmental studies, resource management, or related discipline, along with a minimum of two to three years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;
- Considerable knowledge of residential waste reduction diversion programs, contract administration, budgeting, related regulations and bylaws;
- Knowledge of techniques, materials and methods used in promotional and informational material; and
- Proficiency with MS Office and experience using relevant software and databases related to the role.
