One casual Lifeguard, MHS position available, starting on July 6, 2026, working various hours per week - Lifeguarding for all programs at Benjamin Road.

Your Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- You will provide aquatic programs and activities to youth with specialized mental health and behavioral needs in residential, day and community programs.
- As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will maintain a safe and supportive aquatic environment at all times.
- You will build positive interactions and relationships with youth and will link aquatic experiences to their overall treatment plan.
- You will provide youth with aquatic coaching, instruction and supervision.
- Works in alignment with the Agency’s commitment to equity to further create a sense of belonging at the Agency.
- The above tasks are representative but not all-inclusive.
Your Talents and Experience:
- Completed National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification, Red Cross Swimming Instructors certification, Standard First Aid/CPR/AED, Aquatic Emergency Care, and P.M.A.B. Certification.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar setting; demonstrated youth care skills.
- Ability to communicate openly and honestly with youth, staff peers and the supervisor; make decisions, give and take direction; implement last minute changes in programming to deal with unforeseen circumstances.
- Ability to assess individual motor skills, design, implement and evaluate remedial plans.
- Ability to design, implement and evaluate aquatic programmes.
