Overview
Paladin Security is seeking dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Security Guards to join our Healthcare Division in Calgary. In this role, security goes beyond monitoring and enforcement—you will help create a safe, calm, and supportive environment for patients, healthcare staff, and visitors across hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.
This position is ideal for individuals who excel in dynamic environments, possess strong communication skills, and are committed to providing exceptional service while maintaining safety and security. You'll be supported by experienced healthcare security leadership and 24-hour management assistance to ensure your success.
Responsibilities
- Provide access control at facility entrances and restricted areas.
- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to identify hazards, security concerns, and safety risks.
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond proactively to potential incidents.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergency calls, and requests for assistance.
- Support patient safety by observing, documenting, and reporting incidents in accordance with facility procedures.
- Complete detailed reports and maintain accurate records of daily activities and incidents.
- Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation of challenging situations.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to maintain a secure and welcoming environment.
- Travel to various healthcare sites throughout Calgary and surrounding areas as required.
Must Have
- Valid Alberta Security License.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to de-escalate conflicts and manage difficult situations professionally.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Physical ability to perform extensive patrols and security duties.
- Reliable transportation for travel between healthcare sites within Calgary and surrounding communities.
Nice to Have
- Previous healthcare, hospital, or medical facility security experience.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification or equivalent de-escalation training.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
