We are looking for an experienced Alumni Officer to join ourschool. The Alumni Officer creates and maintains pathways for alumni participation that strengthen alumni engagement and advance the goals of Collingwood through relationship-building, communications, events, volunteer opportunities, and student engagement initiatives. The role serves as a liaison between the Alumni Executive Board and school leadership, and partners with Advancement colleagues where appropriate to support broader alumni engagement and philanthropic goals. This is a Full Time Permanent position that will start July 27, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate the activities of the Alumni Executive Board, including meeting planning, follow-up, and relationship management.
- Plan, implement, and promote alumni programs, events, reunions, and engagement initiatives that align with the school's strategic goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni locally, nationally, and internationally through ongoing outreach and communications.
- Manage alumni communications across email, digital platforms, publications, and social media channels, including LinkedIn.
- Maintain accurate alumni records and engagement data within the alumni database.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and Advancement colleagues to create opportunities for alumni involvement in mentorship, networking, guest speaking, career exploration, and experiential learning programs.
- Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop alumni-focused content and share alumni success stories.
- Support graduating students' transition into the alumni community through targeted engagement initiatives.
- Lead the planning and execution of reunion events, affinity-based gatherings, and special alumni events.
- Identify and support alumni stewardship opportunities and contribute to relationship-building strategies.
- Manage the alumni program budget and ensure effective use of resources.
- Gather and analyze alumni feedback, participation metrics, and engagement trends to inform future programming and strategic planning
Required qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in alumni relations, community engagement, advancement, or a related relationship-focused role.
- Proven ability to build relationships, engage volunteers, and coordinate programs and initiatives.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to think strategically while effectively executing programs and projects.
- Experience planning and coordinating events is an asset.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience with Raiser's Edge or a similar CRM database is an asset.
- Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
