Project Engineer 2 - Infrastructure
Temporary Full-Time (anticipated end date April 1, 2028)
The District of Squamish is seeking a Project Engineer 2 – Infrastructure to provide assistance with engineering work related to the completion of a variety of engineering projects including master plans, studies, condition assessments and policy development. This role plays a key part in managing engineering projects that support the District’s long range infrastructure planning. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative individual and strong communicator, who brings considerable understanding of municipal engineering standards and principles, risk and financial management, and the importance of respecting Indigenous Rights and Title.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management - Manage all stages and aspects of engineering projects including but not limited to: Preparing scopes of work and procurement documents, evaluating, selecting and managing consultants and contractors, budget and schedule management, coordinating internal reviews, community engagement and presentations to senior management and Council.
- Review civil engineering designs and reports for compliance with applicable bylaws, standards, and guidelines.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, developers, external agencies and regulators, and other departments to ascertain and evaluate alternatives and incorporate technical requirements.
What we’re looking for:
- Engineering degree in related discipline is required.
- Membership (or eligibility for immediate membership) as a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of related experience is required.
- Considerable knowledge of and proven experience in development processes.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to design and construction.
