
Legislative Assistant
AUXILIARY
$38.40 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits
The District is inviting applications for the temporary auxiliary position of Legislative Assistant. This auxiliary appointment is anticipated to continue until January 15, 2027.
Reporting to the Manager of Legislative Services, the Legislative Assistant provides administrative and legislative support to Committees, Commissions, and the Board of Variance. This position plays an important role in supporting meeting processes, preparing materials, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring follow-up on key decisions and actions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and organizing meeting logistics, including scheduling, agendas, and supporting materials;
- Engaging with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure smooth communication and support throughout the decision-making process;
- Attending meetings, taking minutes, and following up on key decisions and action items; and
- Preparing clear communications, including correspondence, reports, and other legislative materials.
This opportunity may be of interest to individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, and interested in gaining further experience in local government, legislative procedures, and Council/Committee support.
This position is a Union position and is subject to the terms and conditions in the Collective Agreement between District of North Saanich and CUPE Local 374.
