The City’s Finance and Economic Development Department is seeking a dynamic individual with exceptional leadership skills and financial acumen for a regular full time Manager, Purchasing position.
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Financial Services, you will be responsible for the City’s purchasing and stores/warehouse functions. You will manage the City’s acquisition of goods and services on behalf of the City, including the management of the City’s tender/RFP/RFQ templates. You will also liaise with various senior department managers and external agencies, providing them with purchasing support under a business partnership model. You will manage the disposal and sale of City assets declared surplus, redundant and/or obsolete, determine disposition of RCMP found/seized property as well as submitted lost property. You will supervise the receipt, issuance, storage and control of parts, supplies, materials, tools, and equipment in the City stores warehouse and oversees accuracy of inventory records. You will also manage the development of policies and procedures related to the above areas of responsibility.
You will possess a purchasing management designation and a minimum of five to seven years of related experience, preferably in municipal government. We are seeking applicants with demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, proven management skills, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

We offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule. The salary range is $128,520 – $151,200 (2026 rates).
