Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Dentist role based in Ottawa, ON. The Dentist will provide comprehensive dental care, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery of restorative, preventive, and emergency dental services. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing procedures such as fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, and routine hygiene-related care, as well as interpreting diagnostic tools like X-rays. The Dentist will educate patients on oral health, treatment options, and preventive practices, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for individuals of all ages. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical records, collaborating with dental assistants and administrative staff, and adhering to regulatory, infection control, and safety standards. The Dentist is expected to contribute to a supportive team culture and uphold the practice’s commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Current license or eligibility for licensure as a Dentist in Ontario, in good standing with the relevant regulatory body.
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated proficiency in general dentistry procedures (e.g., restorative, preventive, basic prosthodontics, simple extractions).
- Strong patient communication and education skills, with the ability to explain treatment options clearly and compassionately.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, infection control protocols, and high clinical standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in charting and documentation.
- Experience with digital dental technologies (e.g., digital radiography, practice management software) is an asset.
- Comfort working with patients of diverse backgrounds, ages, and needs, including those who may be anxious or require extra support.
- CPR certification and ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development.
