Human Resources Business Partner
Custom Store Fixture Manufacturing • Montreal
About Us
We're a leading manufacturer of custom store fixtures, serving some of North America's most recognized retail brands. Our environment is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative, and we pride ourselves on building strong teams and high-quality work that brings retail experiences to life.
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on, strategic, people-first HR Business Partner. You'll lead recruitment, coaching, payroll, benefits, and health & safety - and help modernize how we work through AI, automation, and smarter workflows.
This is a genuinely AI-forward seat. You'll inherit working tools (including an AI-assisted screening pipeline) and partner with our internal AI specialist to build more, so a builder's mindset matters as much as HR depth. You'll be a trusted partner to leadership and a driver of both people strategy and operational transformation as we grow.
What You'll Own
- Full-cycle recruitment across production, technical, administrative, and leadership roles - with AI helping you screen, shortlist, and post in both languages
- Onboarding and early engagement, plus coaching and mentoring for managers and new people leaders
- HR strategy and culture: aligning initiatives to business goals, supporting succession planning, and leading change tied to our growth and EOS rollout
- HR operations: payroll, benefits, records, and compliance - with automation taking the routine work off your plate
- Health, safety, and compliance (CNESST): training, incident reporting, and claims, with bilingual safety content kept current through AI
What You Bring
- 10+ years of HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, production, or construction
- Strong recruitment, coaching, and program-development background
- Hands-on with AI, automation, or process improvement - someone who builds and improves tools, not just talks about them
- Solid grounding in employment law, payroll, and health & safety
- Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset
- Comfortable in Excel and quick to pick up new systems
- Entrepreneurial, action-oriented, and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Apply Today
If you're a self-starter who loves building strong teams and cultures - and wants to make a real impact - we'd love to hear from you.
Salary upon experience.
AI & Process Transformation (Core Focus)
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation across HR workflows
- Implement tools to reduce manual work and improve data visibility
- Introduce AI-enabled decision-making (hiring, workforce analytics, performance tracking)
- Build and scale AI-driven recruiting and HR processes
- Advocate for tech-enabled ways of working and drive adoption
- Collaborate with IT and external partners to implement new solutions
- 10+ years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing, production, or construction-related environment
• Proven strength in recruitment, coaching, and HR program development
• Solid knowledge of employment laws, payroll systems, and health & safety regulations
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and comfortable learning new systems
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and a strong sense of urgency
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team
