Job Qualification
Proficient in computers with sufficient knowledge to work on
automated systems with minimum training and supervision.
Proven equivalent medical related knowledge and experience
in handling patients and ensuring safety protocols.
Excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to quickly develop a
rapport with clients/ patients, explain services/ products/
procedures, and handle client concerns.
Highly detail-oriented and meticulous in reviewing work for
accuracy and completeness. Exhibit excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast pace/stress
environment.
Job Responsibilities
Provide exemplary customer service by serving all clients
quickly, professionally, and efficiently.
Greeting customers, handling front desk/reception, and
answering queries while ensuring safety protocols are being
followed.
Answer telephone lines and emails; respond to internal and
external inquiries within scope of responsibility and direct all
calls appropriately to optometrist and staff.
Provide information to clients on products, services and
educating patients on eye health and related issues
Schedule and confirm medical appointments and receive and
communicate messages for medical staff and patients.
Data entry, document scanning and data management.
Registration and update information file of patients
Interview patients to complete forms, documents, and case
histories.
Perform and complete OHIP, insurance and other claim billings
on a daily basis.
Responsible for all necessary follow-up on unpaid claims and
update claim payment
Prepare patient’s invoice and billing.
Resolve any client’s complaints and inquiries in a professional,
timely and appropriate manner.
Initiate and maintain confidential medical files and records.
Establish and maintain variety of office administrative support
such as document filing, updating, management and monthly
reporting.
Order supplies and maintains optical inventory ordering,
tracking, pricing, and cost controls.
Conduct patient intake by taking patients' general medical and
ophthalmic history, ensuring all relevant information is
accurately documented.
Instruct patients on diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring
they understand the purpose and process, and accuratelyrecord test results for optometrist review.
Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment,
ensuring they are always in proper working order and ready for
use.
Prepare examining rooms in terms of setting up and
maintaining machines during optometrist’s clinic day, placing
patients in queue.
Dispensing and educating patients on their eye wear options.
Properly taking spectacle measurements.
Ensure that security measures are in place at all times.
Maintain joint custody of keys.
Ensure immediate feedback of client-related concerns.
Prepare reports for clinic’s transaction for the day.
Ensure cleanliness of the premises at all times.
All other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by
the reporting officer from time to time.
Salary/Wage: $36.50 / hr
35 hours per Week
