WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- University degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license as per City policy.
- Minimum of eight (8) years progressive leadership experience in municipal engineering or a related public sector environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in a senior leadership role overseeing engineering or infrastructure functions.
- Demonstrated success in delivering capital programs, managing multi-disciplinary teams, and driving organizational outcomes.
GOING BEYOND THE ESSENTIALS
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is considered an asset.
- Local government administrative training.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Executive Leadership: Serve on the Senior Leadership Team, providing strategic direction for the Engineering Division while maintaining full accountability for divisional outcomes.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee municipal infrastructure design, capital planning, asset management, and transportation engineering.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement engineering programs that align with City Council priorities and long- term strategic plans.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure sustainable infrastructure development, strict regulatory compliance, and a high- performing organizational culture.
- Relationship Building: Foster collaboration with City Council, local First Nations, external agencies, and thecommunity.
- Cross-Departmental Cooperation: Promote innovation and progressive leadership through seamless, cross- departmental integration.
