SCOPE
The City of Surrey’s Parks, Recreation & Culture Department aims to build healthy communities where all people are active and engaged for life. As part of that commitment, we are looking for auxiliary Concession Workers who can provide excellent customer service to patrons.
We are looking for flexible, enthusiastic team players to join our concession at the City’s six arenas as well as the newest outdoor skating rink at Surrey Civic Plaza. This is an auxiliary position which will include a variety of shifts to work daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of a team that values leadership and efficiency, you will be:
- Preparing food.
- Taking food and beverage orders.
- Completing timely transactions and maintaining accurate cash handling.
- Providing great customer service while dealing courteously with members of the public and other staff.
- Maintaining safe working conditions and sanitary work area.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the concession stands, including wiping down counters, washing dishes, and washing floors.
- Stocking and re-stocking shelves.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- One year’s experience in a position requiring the handling of cash and preparation of concession items.
- An acceptable equivalent of training and experience may be considered.
- Emergency First Aid with CPR and AED certificate.
- Food Safe certificate.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
OTHER INFORMATION
Pay Grade: Schedule D
Hourly Rate: $23.63
