Main Responsibilities:
Major responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Ocean Import and air import freight operations, including booking, e-manifest, tracking, delivery, billing, closing, resolving disputes, managing profit & loss, maintaining customer/agent spreadsheets
- Ocean Export freight operations – as needed
- Other tasks and duties assigned from time to time by the Manager
- Interact and work with remote freight teams daily
- Stay abreast current and upcoming regulations
- Maintain excellent relations with clients and agent, develop relationships, cross sell services, follow-up on potential opportunities to add value.
Main Requirements:
- At least 3 years’ experience in the freight forwarding industry
- Excellent working knowledge of export and import air and ocean freight movements
- CIFFA certified is an asset
- Knowledge of Steamship line and NVOCC contracts and other online pricing tools - asset
- Proficiency with computers is a must; advanced knowledge of Excel
- Solid communication skills (French written and verbal are assets)
- Strong organization skills and is detailed oriented
- Must be a pro-active and solutions-focused team player
- Ability to prioritize time effectively
- Energetic, pro-active, and keen learner
- Proven teamwork skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
