POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator, internally known as "Sections Advisor" to join our Association on a part-time basis. This position reports to the Manager, Sections & Professional development, and works closely with other Sections Advisors and the Member Services Assistant. “Sections” are groups of lawyers organized around legal practice area (e.g. criminal or family law), affinity area (e.g. women lawyers, young lawyers) or workplace (e.g. in-house lawyers, solo and small firm lawyers).
The Sections Advisor works with volunteer members to plan and execute 75-100 Section meetings (professional development and networking events) each year. Responsibilities include securing speakers, selecting venues, events promotion, and on-site logistics. They also coordinate and provide technical support for in-person, hybrid, and virtual meetings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise and manage volunteers across approximately 15-25 committees. Plan, document, promote and implement in-person or virtual professional development meetings and socials for each committee (3-5 events per year, per committee).
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Post secondary education in communications, marketing, project/program management, psychology, business administration, community engagement or similar field. Undergraduate degree is an asset.
Highly organized, self-motivated, adaptable, flexible, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Experience with MS Teams, Excel, Outlook, Copilot, Zoom, Kentico (or similar content management system).
Knowledge of Vimeo, Higher Logic Informz (or similar email marketing software), Camtasia, Adobe Suite an asset.
SALARY RANGE
$60,000-$70,000 (Full-Time Equivalent. Actual salary will be prorated to 60% FTE).
