Located in Hamilton’s downtown core, Hamilton General Hospital provides leading edge care and is home to a number of regional referral programs. The neurosciences and trauma program is a provincial leader in both volume and complexity of care provided. The HGH stroke program has pioneered an integrated approach to care, and our burn treatment program is one of only two in Ontario. The cardiac and vascular program performs more heart surgeries and procedures than any other facility in the province.
The CT Department at the Hamilton General Hospital provides critical imaging services essential for the rapid diagnosis and management of acute stroke, cardiac events, and traumatic injuries. This department plays a vital role in supporting the multidisciplinary care teams by delivering high-resolution imaging to guide urgent and complex treatment decisions.
Position Summary
As a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Registered X-Ray Technologist coordinates, performs and evaluates Diagnostic Services examinations, guides and directs clinical and technical associates and students in a teaching and research environment. Our technologists provide patient care within the HHS core values of respect, caring, innovation and accountability.
X-Ray Technologists at Hamilton General Hospital work with state of the art equipment including Operating Room O-Arm. Our X-Ray Technologists are provided with a robust orientation and are provided opportunities to train in other areas. X-ray Technologists at the Hamilton General Hospital work closely with our ED, trauma and OR teams to provide seamless patient care throughout a patient’s journey. Rotation through other modalities and sites based on qualifications and unit requirements may be required.
Our Diagnostic Services team supports a high volume of diverse adult and pediatric patients and families, providing service in most areas 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Diagnostic Services at HHS includes X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology.
Schedule Work Hours
Rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays (standby as required)
Qualifications
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)
- Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
- Expertise in a cognitive behavioural therapy
- Extensive knowledge and current experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex anxiety and mood disorders in children and adolescents
- Advanced skills in the development and documentation of specific interventions, in conducting clinical trials and in evaluating service outcomes for children and adolescents with mixed emotional and behavioural problems
- Demonstrated strength in consultation, teaching, teamwork and in the supervision of advanced learners
- Demonstrated expertise in several treatment modalities (eg. family systems therapy, group therapy, individual therapy using several theoretical models)
- Strength in conducting andsupervising psychological testing
- Eligible for part-time appointment with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University
- Ability to successfully compete for grant monies to fund clinical trials

Salary
$59.62 - $76.43 hourly
Proficiency in both Official Languages would be an asset.
