Location: St. Catharines, ON
Assignment: Temporary(12 months)
Hours of work: 40 per week
Salary range: Step 1: $42.13/hour Step 2*: $44.94/hour
*After the 90-day work probation period

Your responsibilities
-
Perform mechanical maintenance, inspect, maintain, dismantle, repair and assemble machinery structures (locks, bridges) and light and heavy equipment.

Modify or build parts for the machibnery and structures of the locks, bridges and buildings, according to specifications.

Assemble, install, test, maintain & repair equipment and machinery.

Perform hydraulic maintenance and inspect diesel and gas engines.

Assist with civil work, as required.

Operate lifting equipment.

Unload and/or load and transport heavy equipment and machinery.

Complete standard maintenance field reports.

Perform minor welding and cutting repairs.
Your profile
-
Completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial mechanics or related field
-
Certificate of qualification as millwright 433A in Ontario
-
Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in maintenance, installation and inspection of heavy equipment and mechanical work.

Demonstrated ability to use various tools, measurement instruments and machining equipment.

Working knowledge of mechanical and rigging procedures and techniques.

Knowledge of the applicable procedures, standards and safe work practices with respect to performing duties.
Working conditions
- Job may involve working at heights, depths, near open water and/or confined spaces
