Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our team in the Personal Support Worker (PSW) Program. This program offers students a comprehensive set of practical and critical skills and knowledge in enhancing the quality of life for clients in the healthcare field. Sheridan seeks part-time clinical instructors to teach and oversee students in a variety of clinical placement experiences offered within the PSW Program. Sheridan faculty and staff are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering instruction that meets program outcomes as set out in the course outline;
- Monitoring, reviewing and evaluating students during clinical placements, as program requires;
- Demonstrating facility specific equipment and relating it to learning outcomes;
- Following up with students that are not meeting learning outcomes and providing extra support and resources to them;
- Modeling professional behaviours and adhering to the CNO standards of practice;
- Acting in a manner that follows the Sheridan College code of conduct;
- Providing a safe environment that is conducive to learning, evaluating and validating learning outcomes and designing appropriate strategies and tools for assessing student learning;
- Coordinating resident assignments and distributing them to respective students;
- Keeping on-going communication with the coordinating nurse/PSW leader on the unit to ensure appropriateness of resident selections.

The successful candidates will also meet the following qualifications:
- Registered Practical Nurse (RN Diploma or BScN preferred) with 3 years experience in Long Term Care or Community Healthcare setting or a related field);
- Current registration as an RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario with no restrictions to practice;
- Must have practical experience working with PSWs in community or long-term care settings;
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat;
- Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience.
