INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES:
The Software Engineering Intern will gain experience with the launch of a web application. This will include negotiating the finer points of product requirements, supporting production issues, and developing strategy for enhancements and improvements.
This person will be working closely with the software development team near the launch phase of the Deals Management Application. This may include helping to troubleshoot issues or implement last-minute requirements or improvements to the application. It will also include documenting the application in confluence and in the Data Pipeline for the Content Lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gain familiarity with the structure and workflow of PBSd’s technology operations, specifically surrounding Deal Management.
- Review existing documentation around Deal Management, including the list of attempted projects utilizing third party vendors that have been documented.
- Develop a wireframe/logic flowchart and confluence pages with documentation about how deals will be managed from the inputs in Dynamics CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and RIghtsline to the output data in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Legal Jira board, and Operations teams (utilizing a Deal Management Application to collect and organize deal info for newly exploited rights).
- Depending on how close we are to launching the Deal Management Application, gain familiarity with code and participate in developing features and taking part in quality assurance testing.
- Present the flowchart and associated documentation, and demonstrate any developed features at the end of the internship.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer Science or similar major
- Rising Junior or Senior (Undergraduate)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability, through previous experience, to break down complex tasks into manageable pieces
