Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Be able to set up, troubleshoot and make minor changes to machines
- Monitor quality / complete quality reports.
- Process incoming and in-house materials, as required.
- Organize and maintain the extrusion work area, including storage areas for staged and surplus product waiting to be ground.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including the extruder machines and ancillary equipment.
- Material handling (cross functional with Grinder position).
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance to H & S policies.
- Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices.
Requirements
- Sound troubleshooting skills with a strong mechanical background.
- Should have, or be willing to learn, knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repairs and maintenance.
- Must be a Mauser certified forklift operator, or be willing and able to achieve certification.
- An understanding of the basic concepts of injection molding, plastics processing.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of product knowledge for BWAY Springhill products and processes.
- Comfortable working in a fast pace environment.
- Self-motivated; ability to work without supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to details.
- Shift flexibility, with the ability to work overtime, is a requirement – ability to work both continental (12 hr) and conventional (8 hr) shifts, if required.
