The Director of Information Technology is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping the organization's IT vision, ensuring operational excellence, and driving digital transformation. This role will enable technology to support key business goals, including operational efficiency, global scalability, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Key objectives include:
- Aligning IT Strategy with Business Objectives – Develop and execute an IT roadmap that supports international manufacturing operations and long-term growth.
- Enhancing Operational Efficiency – Leverage technology to streamline manufacturing processes, improve supply chain management, and foster cross-departmental collaboration.
- Driving Digital Transformation – Implement automation, IoT, AI, and Industry 4.0 technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensuring Global IT Security & Compliance – Establish robust cybersecurity frameworks and ensure adherence to international regulations.
- Fostering Team Development & Innovation – Build a high-performing IT team and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
- Mitigating Risks & Ensuring Business Continuity – Develop comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the IT vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with global business objectives.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and innovation.
- Identify and implement technology-driven improvements in manufacturing, supply chain, and customer engagement.
IT Operations Management
- Serve as a key member of the management team, promoting IT quality, security, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications across global locations.
- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations to maximize value.
Team Leadership
- Build and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to IT staff to ensure professional growth and alignment with business goals.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with senior executives and department leaders to align IT initiatives with business needs.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration between IT and other departments for seamless technology adoption.
Project & Change Management
- Oversee IT projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage organizational change related to IT initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and minimal business disruption.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
- Monitor emerging risks and technology trends, implementing proactive security measures.
Education, Training & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (manufacturing industry experience is a plus).
- Experience with ISO 27001 is an asset.
Skills & Competency Requirements
- Expertise in enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, and CRM (e.g., SYSPRO, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, cloud computing, and data analytics.
- Experience in digital integration, application license management, and data strategy.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IoT, and automation in manufacturing.
- Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage and develop diverse, distributed teams.
- Certifications in ITIL, PMP, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with international compliance and data protection regulations.
- Proven success in implementing AI, ML, or data-driven decision-making tools in manufacturing.
