The Opportunity:
Our client, one of Canada’s leading public affairs firms, is seeking a bold and visionary leader to join its team as Vice President of Digital Strategy.
Leading the development and execution of innovative and creative digital campaigns for some of the country’s most influential organizations, this executive role will drive results through highly tactical digital advocacy strategies that shape public opinion, influence government policy, and impact the national landscape.
Based in Toronto or Ottawa, this position requires at least 10 years of relevant experience, a passion for politics, and a proven track record of success managing high-profile digital campaigns, serving as a trusted strategic advisor and partner to clients across diverse markets and industries.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs campaigns to support client objectives, including messaging, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.
- Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns and performance marketing efforts across all key platforms, mediums, and channels.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and priorities, and delivering strategic digital solutions that exceed expectations.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize campaign metrics to maximize results and drive down acquisition costs.
- Manage a team of digital marketing strategists and creative professionals, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Identify emerging digital trends and technologies, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to clients and ensuring that our campaigns remain cutting edge.
What You Bring:
- 10-15+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on managing and optimizing high-profile public affairs campaigns.
- A track record of driving results through data-driven decision-making and creative strategy.
- A deep understanding of the Canadian political landscape, government structures, and policy-making processes.
- A track record of success in an agency, consultancy, or client-facing role is preferred, but exceptional in-house candidates with experience leading large-scale digital campaigns will also be considered.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with extensive experience presenting and articulating strategic plans and reasoning to clients.
- A demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and growing digital marketing and creative design practices.
- Extensive leadership and team management experience.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to execute numerous projects and deliverables simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Advertising, or a related field.
