Summary of the Role
The Chief Technology Officer at CIRA will play a crucial role in steering the organization’s technological infrastructure and IT Strategy and Roadmap, aligning with CIRA’s mission and growth objectives. This role is vital for driving technology initiatives that enhance CIRA's offerings and ensure that the organization remains at the forefront of the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
As CTO, you will lead the IT team responsible for network infrastructure, system administration, and service desk operations. You will champion cross-departmental collaboration to align efforts with CIRA’s broader objectives, including cybersecurity and .CA initiatives. Working closely with engineering teams in the Registry services and Cyber DNS and Business Operations groups, you will influence strategic technical decisions and standardize IT practices, ensuring that technology effectively supports business plans and goals.
You will oversee a decentralized technology infrastructure, establishing standards and protocols across various business units to foster collaboration and scalability. You will ensure that all technological implementations align with CIRA’s sustainability goals, such as achieving carbon neutrality. Additionally, you will manage strategic partnerships with technology providers and represent CIRA in external forums, contributing to policy development and enhancing CIRA’s reputation as a leader in domestic and international internet governance.
