, this is a full-time role where the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic purchasing practices, building relationships with suppliers, and managing procurement activities. The role requires a strong background in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the millwork, woodworking, or construction sectors.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure a steady supply of quality materials at competitive costs.
- Source, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve favorable agreements.
- Work closely with project managers, production teams, and estimators to ensure material requirements and timelines align with project needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders accordingly to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications, company standards, and industry regulations.
- Track deliveries and resolve supply chain issues to prevent delays in project timelines.
- Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing.
- Stay informed about market trends, new materials, and cost fluctuations in the millwork industry.
- Maintain detailed records of purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost analyses.
- Develop and enforce purchasing policies and procedures to streamline procurement operations.
Requirements:
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in the millwork, woodworking, or construction industries.
- A post-secondary education in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is highly beneficial.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in purchasing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with materials like wood products, hardware, laminates, and other millwork supplies is a significant asset.
