Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Strategy and Transformation office is seeking a Director, Transformation to provide leadership for organizational transformation, working with the organizational leadership team to develop cohesive transformation plans while tracking progress, addressing emerging and adaptive needs and maintain thought leadership and identification of trends and best practice.
What will I be doing?
- Directs and leads the Strategy and Transformation function and its implementation across the organization, working amongst all divisions in a cross-functional manner.
- Develops and implements the appropriate transformation plans and strategies and stays adaptive to emerging trends and best practice in organizational transformation.
- Develops and implements the enterprise strategy work, and any associated strategic products.
- Supports and initiates LEAN process through a LEAN leadership approach.
- Manages regular reviews of organizational transformation and updates including risks, mitigation strategies and lessons learned.
- Builds relationships with affiliated groups to stay apprised of industry trends, technologies and strategies.
- Maintains strong relationships with staff and leadership, acting as a key support on the strategy and transformation files providing guidance, advice and direction.
- Develops and manages annual and long-term budgets and staffing plans that adhere to corporate standards and applicable legislation
- Monitors project and program progress to deliver objectives on time and within budget, and achieve anticipated business results while maximizing investment
- Directs input to reports, workplans and analysis.
- Directs establishment of internal practices and processes to ensure transformation strategy and implementation maintains integrity and quality.
- Leads staff within the Transformation team and establishes a work environment that exemplifies the organization’s desire to be “a best company to work for”. Manages the enterprise transformation and implementation aligned with the strategic vision, connected to strategic corporate goals; provides leadership within the management environment portfolio
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a degree in Business Administration, Business, Organizational Behaviour or a related discipline, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent. Possession of a post-graduate degree is an asset.
- Demonstrated years of experience in organizational strategy, workplace transformation, change management or a related field which includes leading a team of professionals.
- Measured success in the application of change management methodology in the context of a diverse organization and experience in the public sector is an asset.
- A valid driver’s license is required to travel to various project locations, and facilities outside of the downtown area etc. Must meet and maintain the corporate standard for a good driving record.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, professional or technical practices and precedents as well as knowledge of human resources legislation to manage and direct project team employees, consultants, and contractors.
- Exceptional program and project management skills.
- Leadership experience in workplace transformation within a large-scale and complex organization with diverse business units and teams within Operations, Corporate and Capital divisions.
