Responsibilities
- Prepares weekly manufacturing statement on site performance meeting predetermined deadlines
- Duties include performing assigned tasks, including work order close and review, investigation of variances and offering assistance as team members require
- Prepares period end manufacturing statement meeting predetermined deadlines
- Involved in completing various tasks including but not limited to: preparation of journal entries and accruals, analysis of raw material variances, overhead allocations, and analysis of manufacturing and overhead variances
- Preparation and updating in JDE of costing for all finished goods and raw materials for upcoming year including updating machine rates
- Works with external auditors for year-end inventory count and other requirements
- Develop the standards files for the budget by gathering the required data from other departments to use in the calculation of costs for the new budget
- Weekly review of unposted batches in JDE and either changing status or initiating correction at source.
- Complete weekly overhead reports for department managers
- Reconciles all balance sheet accounts for the plant: raw materials, stores, prepaids, benefits
- Responsible for the accurate costing of all finished good product SKU’s
- Responsible for the accurate costing of all raw materials
- Set up new job cost and capital assets as started/required
- Work with the maintenance group to track status of projects and ensure costs are entered to proper jobs.
- Add new capital and set up for depreciation once assets are in use.
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5-8 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Manufacturing accounting experience is an asset
