Position Summary
As Business Analyst, you will be a key contributor to our consulting projects, responsible for analyzing client needs, helping design data and technology solutions, and supporting project delivery. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to provide insights and implement solutions that improve business performance. This role requires a solid foundation of technical knowledge, business acumen, and strong client-facing skills, with the opportunity and expectation to expand your expertise and responsibilities over time.
This position is ideal for a strong Junior BA looking to take on an intermediate level BA role.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and recommend changes where necessary.
Solution Design Support: Assist in designing and refining business solutions in partnership with IT and other departments. Prepare detailed specifications, workflows, and diagrams to guide development and implementation.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, including department heads and external partners. Facilitate communication and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Participation: Actively participate in project teams, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and within scope. Contribute to project planning, risk management, and progress tracking.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights. Create reports and presentations for senior management, providing recommendations based on data findings.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior analysts and project leads to ensure best practices and standards are followed. Share knowledge and support the development of junior analysts.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and advocate for initiatives that enhance business performance and competitiveness.
Technology Integration: Assist in evaluating and recommending new technologies or systems that can benefit the business. Ensure that technology solutions are effectively integrated into current business processes.
Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their business challenges and goals. Help develop and implement solutions that leverage your expertise in business, data, and technology consulting.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in business analysis, with a record of successfully contributing to the delivery of business solutions and projects.
Security Clearance: Successful candidates required to gain Secret Level Security Clearance
Skills
- Ability to work effectively in client-facing roles and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Expertise in business process modeling and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and methods (e.g., SWOT analysis, BPMN).
- Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
- Strong understanding of business processes and IT systems.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting, with proficiency in tools like Excel, PowerBi, SQL, or Tableau.
- Ability to manage or contribute to multiple projects and deadlines.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), or Six Sigma are highly desirable
- Understanding and experience of Data, Data Strategy and/or Data Governance of benefit
- Strong understanding of technology platforms, including cloud computing and enterprise systems.
- Experience of workforce planning (scheduling, asset management or work request/order systems e.g. ServiceNow) would an asset to support for current projects.
