Summary of responsibilities:
The Senior Advisor, Checkpoint Design and Optimization is responsible for developing technical design solutions for Pre-Board Screening, Non-Passenger Screening checkpoints, and Hold Baggage Screening Checkpoints and Systems in compliance to CATSA Guidelines at all CATSA airports. In addition, responsibilities include developing technical checkpoint and system drawings, equipment AutoCAD libraries, managing CATSA’s drawing repositories, and developing and maintaining Screening Technology Guidelines. The Senior Advisor, Checkpoint Design and Optimization performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in engineering, business administration, business management, project management or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the use of AutoCAD for design projects.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience developing and executing technology deployment plans and relevant technical design solutions of different size complexity and scope in a project or operational environment.
- Experience liaising with a variety of stakeholder or client communities to promote business strategies and deliver projects.
- Knowledge of analytical tools, threat and risk assessment, problem-solving and decision-making methodologies.

Valuable skills include:
- Skills and knowledge of other CAD Software such as Revit.
- Skills and knowledge of equipment networking, network designs in IT enabled projects.
- Skills and knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Experience leading technology-based project design, development and implementation.
- Knowledge of CATSA's design guidelines, mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA.
Specific work requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as required;
- Ability to travel as required
- Language Profile: English Essential;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
