We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel, and are our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Human Resources Advisor, the Human Resources Coordinator supports the HR team with recruitment, onboarding, and day-to-day administration. They act as the first point of contact for employees on HR related matters.
You are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist in the recruitment process by attending recruitment events, creating job postings, pre-screening candidates, conducting phone interviews, completing reference checks, background checks, and sending job offers
- Assist in coordinating season recruitment efforts
- Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and training sessions for new hires, including health, safety, and hotel brand requirements
- Ensuring all compliance related requirements are met during onboarding, policies are signed off on, collected, and new hire documents are completed
- Organize, maintain, and update employee records and human resources information systems (HRIS)
- Liaise with the payroll team relating to new hire, current employee changes, and benefit program administration
- Ensure the smooth off-boarding of seasonal and permanent employees
- Monthly HRIS reporting and follow-up with department heads as needed
- Assist leaders with conducting regular performance reviews
- Help drive employee engagement as an ambassador for recognition programs
- Assist with coordinating special events and employee recognition activities
- Assist with ensuring clear communication to employees regarding events, policy updates, reminders, and other important information
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and proactive employee services with a positive attitude and approachable nature
- Ensuring strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee issues
- Other related duties and tasks as assigned
What are we looking for?
To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following:
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources preferred
- Previous recruitment experience is an asset
- Previous hospitality experience is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent organization, time management, and planning skills
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to adjust hours, and work at multiple properties as required
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office
- Knowledge of HRIS and applicant tracking software (ATS) is an asset
