Our entertainment client is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team! This is a highly visible role that provides exposure to various finance functions, working directly with the Sr. Manager, Accounting, and the Executive Director of Finance.
This is a 9 month contract and is hybrid in Toronto.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare internal and external financial reports, including commentary, analysis, and presentation decks for monthly/quarterly financial reporting.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including analysis, accruals, tax, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Assist with various financial functions such as budgeting, forecasting, processing financial transactions, audit support, ad hoc analysis, and AR/Collections support.
- Develop tools and capabilities to enhance efficiency through automation and the elimination of redundancies across the finance team.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in a finance role (minimum).
- Experience in management reporting and evaluating financial and non-financial performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience with PeopleSoft accounting systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Automate, and Power BI
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting (minimum).
- CPA designation or enrollment in a CPA program (preferred).
