APEX is currently accepting applications for a Quality Assurance Manager within its Custom Contract Manufacturing Group. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Operations Manager. As Quality Assurance Manager, you will oversee the quality management system, as well as ensure adherence to environmental, health & safety, and security regulations. Your role involves ensuring compliance across all business processes, maintaining standards, and managing documentation to meet regulatory and client requirements. You will work closely with production teams, front-line supervisors, and office staff to ensure these standards are upheld. Occasional weekend work or overtime may be required.
Duties
· Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs including QA, H&S, and Security procedures and processes to ensure conformity to business, regulatory & client requirements.
· Oversee inspection processes, including adherence to inspection criteria, training of inspection staff, and the implementation of inspection procedures and documentation.
· Manage internal/external audits, including internal, supplier, client, and 3rd party audits to the required compliance standards.
· Conduct incoming, in-process and final quality inspections including, but not limited to dimensional inspection, visual inspection, and document inspections using established procedures.
· Investigate product quality issues to determine root causes and develop corrective actions. Work with stakeholders to implement these actions effectively.
· Support team members on adherence to quality control/assurance procedures and best practices.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve overall manufacturing processes.
· Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· 3-5 years working in a Quality assurance role, preferably within a manufacturing environment (machining or fabrication).
· Working experience with management systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, N299, OEM specifications, or other.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions and change.
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings, with an understanding of GD&T principles.
· Experience using inspection equipment (tooling/gages).
· CMM or portable 3D measurement arm experience is considered an asset.
· Knowledge and experience using MRP/ERP functions is considered an asset.
