Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst - Capital Markets Technology
About the Role
A leading North American financial institution is seeking an experienced Business Analyst/Business Systems Analyst to join their team implementing a new vendor solution for a recently established US residential mortgage trading desk. This strategic initiative supports institutional investors with collateralized lending backed by US residential mortgages.
Project Overview
The newly established US residential mortgage desk provides collateralized lending to institutional investors who use the funding to invest in US residential mortgages. These mortgages are then pledged back as collateral. The bank closely monitors the value of the underlying mortgages to ensure loans remain in good standing, with margin calls implemented when necessary.
The team has selected "LoanCAD" as their preferred technology solution. Your role will focus on implementing this vendor product and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install the LoanCAD vendor solution into the bank's private Azure Cloud
- Document business and system interactions and workflows
- Facilitate integration between internal systems and LoanCAD
- Identify and develop requirements beyond what LoanCAD offers (if needed)
- Work closely with Front Office, Back Office, Vendor teams, and various downstream system teams
- Facilitate testing activities with users and vendors
- Bridge communication between technical teams and business stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of capital market system development experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven experience documenting business requirements and workflows
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships across different business units
- Understanding of system integration concepts and challenges
- Experience with vendor implementations and cloud-based solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of collateralized financing and collateral management
- Understanding of mortgage financing structures and processes
- Familiarity with payment wire transfer workflows
- Experience with Azure cloud implementation
- Financial services industry experience, particularly in capital markets
