Controller Our client is seeking a Controller to lead core financial reporting and oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple legal entities within a dynamic, operationally complex environment. This role provides financial leadership, ensures accurate and timely reporting, and partners closely with cross‑functional teams to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a proven controllership experience, and a strong background in operational finance.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Manage the monthly financial close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting packages
- Prepare and review variance analysis, reforecasting, and cash‑flow forecasts to support decision‑making
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations including general ledger, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and treasury activities
- Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial planning initiatives
- Maintain corporate compliance and coordinate external audits and regulatory reporting requirements
- Partner with operations and business teams to align financial processes with operational objectives
- Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting workflows
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants through clear priorities, performance management, and regular feedback
- Foster a culture of accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement across the finance function
Your strengths include: - CPA designation in good standing
- 5+ years of post‑designation accounting experience
- 3+ years in a Controller or senior controllership role
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central, SAP, or JD Edwards
- Background in logistics, transportation, operations, or other environments requiring operational finance, job costing, and margin analysis
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and follow‑through
- Ability to adapt, collaborate, and lead effectively in evolving business environments
