COTA is dedicated to promoting and protecting the growth of organic trade to benefit the environment, economy, farmers, and consumers. As a service-oriented organization, COTA provides strategic insights, data, and information to its members while advocating for the organic sector with government and media. It leads national and international campaigns and initiatives, such as Organic Week, the “Choose Canada Organic” campaign, and export missions, to promote Canadian organic products and expand market opportunities globally. With a strong relationship with policymakers, COTA plays a pivotal role in standard-setting, regulatory advocacy, and market development for the organic industry.
Role Description
This is a contract, hybrid role for a Data Insights Coordinator based in Ottawa, ON, with the option for partial remote work. The Data Insights Coordinator will manage and analyze data, produce insightful reports, and support decision-making through robust data analytics. Tasks include extracting and interpreting relevant data, creating data visualizations, and presenting actionable insights to various stakeholders within the organization. The role requires collaboration with internal teams to deliver data-driven strategies that align with organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical and Data Analysis skills to interpret complex datasets and derive actionable insights
- Proficiency in Data Management and Data Analytics, including database maintenance and use of analytics tools
- Excellent Communication skills to present findings effectively to diverse stakeholders and collaborate with team members
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a hybrid work environment
- Proficiency with data visualization tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) is an asset
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business, Statistics, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in the nonprofit, organic, or trade association sector is an advantage
