Responsibilities
- Ability to lead the HVAC installation on new construction school projects from the early stages through to completion.
- Be able to coordinate crews and subcontractors, interpreting drawings and specifications, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects stay on schedule.
Qualifications
- 15+ years experience in commercial HVAC or sheet metal installation
- Journeyperson Sheet Metal Certification with Red Seal or Equivalent
- Extensive foreman or supervisory experience managing crews and subcontractors
- Proven experience delivering projects across large-scale commercial settings
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and handle heavy materials
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
Supervisory Skills
- Lead and install commercial HVAC duct systems and ventilation components
- Coordinate and oversee multiple subcontractors and installation crews
- Interpret blueprints and project plans to ensure accurate and efficient installations
- Ensure all installations meet industry standards, safety requirements, and project specifications
- Maintain high standards of site safety, organization, and quality control
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors
- Support the development and mentoring of younger tradespeople on site
Experience or certification would be an asset in:
- Fall Arrest
- Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) or Scissor lift
- First Aid/CPR
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
