What You'll Be Doing
The Labeling Operator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation, printing, and application of labels for various production needs. This role plays a key part in supporting efficient order fulfillment by maintaining label readiness, improving task efficiency, and ensuring proper equipment functionality.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Print and apply labels for brown bags, ingredients, and baggable items in an accurate and timely manner.
Print RTE Sleeves with correct lot code and BBD to support the RTE Assembly department.
Print driver tags to support the Order Pick department.
Label Hot Kitchen and COMM stickers with appropriate Best Before Dates (BBD) and ensure compliance with food safety and labeling standards.
Ensure the labeling work orders are prepared at least two weeks in advance to support timely production schedules.
Monitor and improve task efficiency by tracking and optimizing seconds per task to support real-time data capture and performance metrics.
Troubleshoot label printers as necessary and ensure a consistent supply of printing consumables such as ink and label stock.
Support cross-functional teams during peak periods or special projects (e.g., re-labeling, rush orders).
Keep the labeling station clean, organized, and audit-ready in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor to support operational needs and ensure smooth workflow within the department.
What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate for the Labeling Operator position is a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. They possess a strong sense of ownership over their responsibilities and understand the importance of accuracy and efficiency in supporting downstream operations like order fulfillment and food safety.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks while preparing work orders well in advance of deadlines.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, ensuring all labels are printed and applied accurately without errors.
Possesses basic technical skills to troubleshoot label printers and maintain equipment functionality.
Comfortable with data tracking and committed to improving performance metrics such as seconds per task.
Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Understands the importance of food labeling regulations and maintains a high standard of quality and compliance.
Proactive in maintaining inventory levels of supplies like ink and labels, avoiding delays in production.
Previous experience in production, warehousing, or food operations is an asset but not required.
Label Printing & Application Proficiency. Ability to operate label printers and apply various types of labels (e.g., for brown bags, ingredients, BBD stickers) with speed and accuracy.
Basic Technical Troubleshooting. Knowledge of how to identify and resolve common printer issues (e.g., jams, ink replacement, alignment problems).
Inventory Management. Ability to monitor and maintain adequate stock of printing supplies like labels and ink.
Attention to Detail. Precision in labeling and documentation to ensure compliance with food safety standards and minimize errors.
Time Management & Prioritization. Efficiently handling daily tasks and preparing work orders in advance to keep up with production timelines.
What You Can Expect
Hourly wage: $22.20 per hour
Work schedule: Thursday to Monday 7:00am-3:00pm
