Job Description: PI Logistics Technician
The PI Logistics Technician supports Product Introduction (PI) projects within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive and may evolve based on project and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipping/Receiving: inspection, packing, and verify materials against packing slips; generate goods receipts in the system.
- Manage quarantine receipts and promptly notify the responsible buyer for resolution.
- Store materials in the warehouse, consolidate and rotate parts, and update bin locations on a daily basis.
- Pick, pack, crate, and ship various parts and products in accordance with project and customer requirements.
- Operate forklift equipment safely and perform daily inspections to identify potential maintenance issues.
- Conduct cycle counts and support physical inventory activities.
- Perform accurate data entry for all warehouse movements and material transactions.
- Conduct quality audits on picked and packed order line items.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of routine and non-routine shipments.
- Update systems with accurate inventory counts and all incoming/outgoing shipment data.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Experience in logistics operations
- Knowledge of supply chain information systems
- Supplier relationship management skills
- Understanding of transportation and distribution processes including customs documentation requirements
- Strong quality focus
- Commitment to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) culture
- Knowledge of supply chain fundamentals
- Basic understanding of the rail industry
- Proficiency with computers, inventory databases and MS Office products; SAP and Maximo knowledge considered an asset
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Customer relationship management skills
Post-Secondary Education (2 years) in Business or Supply Chain Manangement, or equivalent experience in logistics/warehousing
Forklift Certification/Experience an asset
Drivers License Mandatory
Must be willing to travel to project sites within GTA
