A versatile maintenance technician responsible for a wide range of tasks, including preventive and routine maintenance such as general repairs, plumbing, painting, and equipment relocation. Additionally, this role will handle various duties such as security and emergency preparedness, supporting special events or projects, and responding to maintenance requests from employees.
This role is currently scheduled to work 3:00pm - 11:00pm for the foreseeable future; however, schedules are subject to change based on the operational needs of the School.
Responsibilities:
- General repairs
- Assist with filter replacement
- Handle a variety of general building maintenance requests related to electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry
- Make routine electrical repairs such as replacing small motors, lamp replacement, and changing ballasts
- Conduct routine security checks throughout the shift
- Move equipment, furniture, boxes
- Assist with deliveries
- Assist with traffic control
- Assist with room setup and tear down involving the dismantling of equipment and furniture before and after events
- Assist to maintain fire extinguishers
- Remove snow from walkways, stairs, parking lots and devices as required
- Provide after-hours ‘on call duty’ as required
- Assist to open / close campus
- Assist with shipping / receiving
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Self-motivated team player with proven organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to varying assignments along with the flexibility to adjust to changing schedules as required
- Effective communicator with demonstrated high degree of accuracy and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Sound judgement and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations
- General knowledge of building operations such as HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, plumbing and control systems an asset
- Ability to organize and maintain lighting storage facility
- Ability to maintain a light inventory control and re-order system
- Ability to organize and maintain mechanical areas in a clean and well organized manner

Compensation: $45,000 - $55,000
